WHY KIT

I didn’t let it fall apart. Life showed up. I chose.

❦

Eventually, imperfectly, gratefully, I stepped into the work I had been called to all along. This is what I learned along the way.

WHERE THIS WORK COMES FROM

A long line of Goliath-facers.

I come from a long line of strong men and women, each of whom faced their own Goliath.

My grandfather was cavalry. He is full bird colonel, World War II, the Pacific, a military attaché in Sweden during some of the most complex geopolitics of the war.

My grandmother Nancy did not stay home and wait. She packed up the children and brought them to Sweden to be with him.

My father was infantry. Ranger. Major. Two tours in Vietnam. He made a covenant in the rice paddies of the Mekong Delta, if God brought his troops home alive, he would follow Him for the rest of his life. He came home. He kept his word. He became an Episcopal priest.

My mother spent her years serving men and women who had turned to addiction.

My husband John was 101st Airborne. A Screaming Eagle. A paratrooper. He faced a life-ending cancer with the same steady faith he brought to everything else. He was always building or remodeling something, doing farm chores, fixing tractors, and playing golf. He thought horses were nothing but hay burners, but because his wife and his daughters loved them, he kept the family farm running and the fences fixed.

And me, who has walked the coals of leadership long enough to know what it costs and long enough to find my way back.

Through the depression and the war and the years of uncertainty, Nancy kept the silver polished. The formal china on the table. The standard held. That was not luxury. That was defiance, a declaration that this family would not be diminished by what the world was doing outside their
door.

I inherited their strength. And I spent a long time not understanding what it was costing me.

"Three generations of men who served. And the women who waited — who held the children and the household and the faith and the silver pitchers while the men were somewhere else entirely. I carried a different kind of strength."

WHAT I HAVE LIVED

This work was not built in a classroom.

01

I have been the high-capacity leader who had built everything she was supposed to build and still felt the quiet ache of something missing.

02

I have been the woman in the hospital room watching the person she loved most say enough.

03

I have been the one driving away from a life with two horses in a trailer and a trembling dog beside her and no clear picture of what came next.

And I have been — eventually, imperfectly, gratefully — the woman who found her way back.

Not to what was. To what was always possible.

THE CONVICTION THIS WORK IS BUILT ON

Why I do this work, distilled to one sentence.

____________________________________________________________________________________

“The role of leadership is to create more leaders. We can only do that once we have learned to lead ourselves — in truth.”

— FROM ALIGNED, FORTHCOMING FALL 2026

____________________________________________________________________________________

That sentence is the entire foundation. Everything I teach, the frameworks, the keynotes, the coaching, the Academy, flows from it. Because the leader who has done that work, who has learned to tell themselves the truth and stop abandoning themselves inside the life they have built, that leader changes everything they touch.

And the world needs more of those leaders right now than it has ever needed before.

WHAT THE WORK ACTUALLY IS

If you have made it this far, here is what I do.

FOR LEADERS

I walk alongside high-capacity leaders as they find their way home to themselves.

Through keynote talks, workshops, and depth coaching. The work is for the leader who has built it all and is quietly wondering why it doesn’t feel more alive. The full calendar. The capable team. The persistent ache that something essential is missing. We name it, understand it, and return to alignment they can actually live.

FOR TEAMS

I bring the work into the room with leadership teams ready to do it together.

Through workshops, intensives, and signature equine-assisted leadership work — the kind of deep, embodied development that doesn’t end when the room empties out. Custom-designed for the team in the room, every time.

FOR COACHES

I train the next generation of coaches to do this work at depth.

Through TLR Leadership and Coaching Academy, a certification program for coaches who want to work the way this work actually requires. We train differently than most programs because we believe coach development is, at root, the same project as the leader development we do on stage and in the book. It begins with the coach's own return home.

FOR EVERYONE

I am writing the book I wish someone had handed me ten years earlier.

Aligned: Lead with Purpose. Live with Zest. arrives Fall 2026 from LifeWise Books. It is the honest account of what I learned when the bootstraps finally ran out and the frameworks I now teach to the leaders and coaches doing the same work in their own lives.

If any of this lands, let’s begin.

Whether you are a leader looking for your way back, a team ready to do the work together, or a coach looking to do this work at depth: this is where it starts.
